How Cerazette works?
Desogestrel primarily prevents ovulation, i.e., it prevents the release of an egg from the ovary. There are certain other mechanisms of action. It may increase the thickness of the mucus lining the neck of the womb whereby it will be difficult for the sperm to reach the womb, thus preventing successful fertilisation of egg. Desogestrel may also change the quality of the lining of the womb, i.e., endometrium, which will prevent successful implantation of fertilised eggs onto the wall of the womb.
